Erik’s Annotation This source discusses Gandhi’s life in more detail. The most important part of this article is the timeline. The timeline lays out all of Gandhi’s life from birth to death. Since this article goes more in depth on the information in the textbook, it makes it one of my secondary resources. The intended audience of this article is anyone interested in Indian history that is in high school or above. This article was very easy to find and is also easy to navigate. There is some bias toward India and Gandhi when talking about their independence from Britain. Lastly, the information is effectively presented since it is broken down into subgroups. In conclusion, this article was very useful for my project.

The section 9.1 in the textbook covers partition and Indian independence, both of which very important topics in India’s history. This source has a more in depth look at said topics covered only briefly in this section. It allows the reader to have a greater understanding of why it was so important for India to gain independence, as well as why it was so hard for Britain to give it up. This article informs the reader of reasons not mentioned in the textbook. This article also gives the reader more information on partition. Although its briefly mentioned in the textbook, partition was very important for Indian history and should be thoroughly covered. This website gives the reader very detailed information that the text only brushes on. Understanding partition is crucial in understanding the India/Pakistan split and what would have been a civil war if not for gaining independence.

Gandhi was a major influence on the Indian revolution. Through this source, it is explained how Gandhi was raised and how that shaped him into the well known man he was. Gandhi, as portrayed is this document, stressed civil disobedience while fighting for what the Indians wanted. He wanted Muslims and Hindus to get along, but his main focus was to gain rights for the Muslims. In situations such as the first Round Table Conference, Gandhi attempted to further Muslim rights by attempting to reserve seats for the Muslim. Although these efforts were unsuccessful, Gandhi is said to never give up. Gandhi, as well as many other Indians, according to this source, were very influenced by Muslim separation. Understanding the events of Gandhi's life is crucial for the understanding of the actions and choices he has made.

Within the video, it features not only photos but also primary source video clips. These clips show the viewer what some of the protests looked like, as well as where Gandhi lived and preached. The video also allows the reader to understand Gandhi’s principle and their affects on society in a more interactive way than the text. It not only informs the viewer of Gandhi’s impact during India’s struggle for independence but also his impact in many other ventures. This video is very informative on Gandhi’s principles and how they differed from society’s. Gandhi inspired many revolutionaries, such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela, and this video makes a point to mention and discuss said revolutionaries and how they are similar to Gandhi. Understanding Gandhi’s principles is very important, but with the background information provided within this video, the viewer has a greater more detailed understanding.
